SUMMER TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.familiesonlinemagazine.com/travel/travellogo.jpgWhat a B-E-A-UTIFUL day it is today! We are SO blessed! Summer is coming and I’m sure we all have A LOT of plans this season! The thing I love about summer the MOST is feeling the warmth of the hot sun soaking into my skin! It gives me this ENERGY, this motivation to be HAPPY and love life! It’s the best because everyone is out and everyone says hello as you walk by. Summer really is my favorite season.

http://frtim.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/sweating.jpg?w=141&h=222But…as always, there is opposition in all things right? Summer brings hot sweaty days. Those days when you take 3 cold showers and wish it could be winter again. Where it’s SO hot you could fry an egg on the side walk. Plus in New York you also have the humidity! UGH!

Well as much as I don’t appreciate those extreme summer days they do help me to appreciate the ones like today. We have to know the bad, so we can recognize the good. Our Heavenly Father loves us SO much and wants us to be happy. But inorder to really know what it means to be happy we HAVE to know the opposite.

So when you have those hot, sticky, summer days and trials come your way just remember that experiencing those times will make the good days that much more sweet!http://trufreedomlasts.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/cartoonkids.gif?w=435&h=225

Birthday Wish!

http://images.paraorkut.com/img/clipart/images/b/balloons-42.gif22 years ago I came into this world!!!!!!!!! Yup that’s right today is my Birthday! I got to thinking…what could I share with everyone on this special day of mine that means the most to me?

It came to my mind that I should simply tell you our Savior lives.  He died for us and preformed the perfect Atonement so that we could live with our Father in Heaven again one day.  Christ says, “I have suffered all, that they might not suffer if they would repent.” (D&C 19:16) And how true that statement has been for me in my short 22 years of mortal existence so far.

Christ suffered so we don’t have to. If we humble ourselves before Him and ask for help He will very literally ease our burdens. He may not take them away but I know from experience that He does make them light. He will walk with you, if you allow Him to.

http://www.visualphotos.com/photo/2x3826483/girl_blowing_out_candles_on_birthday_cake_13680031.jpgPlease don’t think, ” Oh ya that works for other people, but not me.” The Savior’s Atonement covers all. He is the beginning, He is the end. And He is waiting and ready to strengthen you.

As I reflect on my growth I am happy to say I know my Savior more than I did last year. I hope to be able to say that every year. He loves us all more than we can comprehend. And I love Him with all my heart, might, mind and strength.

So if I could have one birthday wish it would be: Get on your knees and pray. But don’t just talk, really open up with our Father in Heaven. Have a real conversation with Him. Get to know Him and His Son. It will change your life forever. And by your Birthday be able to say you know Him better also :)

Snipe Hunting!

http://art.georgecoghill.com/images/illustration/_commercial/cartoon-hunter.gifI went snipe hunting once. Turns out there’s no such thing as snipes. Didn’t know that till I was abandoned at the top of a hill in the middle of a camp ground that I was very unfamiliar with. I just wanted to be included. Joke was on me!  Turns out they left me to find my way back and thought  it was funny that I got lost on my way home.

As we started we made our hike to a large hill. They told me exactly how to catch the snipe. I was to hit it with my bat and then put it in the pillow case they given me. I was determined to catch this strange creature and knew that by doing so I would be the star of the night!

But as I walked up the hill to prove myself I soon realized that everyone had left me. No one was waiting at the bottom of the hill like they’d promised.

Our Savior on the other hand… He will NEVER leave us. And He most assuredly will never trick us either. He has already walked the path we are on and is waiting with arms open to guide us and be our light as we make our journey back to our Heavenly Father.

Don’t be tricked by those who call themselves your friends. Think to yourself, “are they helping me come closer to Christ?” That is how you can know if someone is a true friend. There is so much worldly influence around that will leave us stranded when we follow its course. That is how Satan would want it. But through our Savior Jesus Christ we can always be safe and never be left alone.
